La Mancha region in autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain

La Mancha is a historical and natural region in central Spain to the south of Madrid, situated in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha includes parts of the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Toledo.

The southwest part of La Mancha ends at the foot of Alcaraz Mountains (Sierra de Alcaraz) situated in Albacete province (including these beautiful mountains), Morena Mountains (Sierra Morena) at the south of the region also divides Castile-La Mancha from Andalucia , Toledo Mountains (Montes de Toledo) at the east of the region, North of the region is bounded by La Alcarria region and icludes Hills of Cuenca (Serranía de Cuenca).

The name of 'La Mancha' was probably initiated by Arabs Known to them as 'al-Manshah' (Dry Land or Wilderness).

During the Middle Ages the region was an intermediate zone between Chrsitian and Moorish forces.
